Everyone was on the edge of their seats when Aqueous Events Management finally confirmed that they will be producing the first ever solo concert of our Total Performer, Darren Espanto, at The Music Museum on October 4, 2014. Tickets were at 2500.00 for VIP Gold, 2300.00 for VIP Silver, and 2000.00 for Patron. The whole world was excited and all eyes were on Aqueous’ page waiting for announcements.
The Event Organizers were overwhelmed by the influx of phone calls and online reservations last September 11, 2014. False speculations about the concert ticket being sold out circulated, so the management made essential changes to the ticket purchasing process. Aqueous Events Management also made it known to the public that they are the sole authorized ticket vendors.
To observe fairness and to provide equal opportunity to all ticket buyers, Aqueous Events Management, together with the concert producers and the DARRENatics Administrators, decided to stop the ongoing ticket reservations. A one-day ticket selling event was set on September 19, 2014 at the Forum Robinsons at 1:00PM to 6:00PM.
Those who were confirmed of their phone and online reservations were given priority on the selling day. The event management, with their fair judgment also considered those who reserved with special circumstances. Although 15% of the tickets were officially reserved, the voluminous 85% were sold on the said ticket selling date.
Typhoon Mario may have unleashed its power in the Metro on the day of the ticketing event, but it did not hinder hundreds of fans from getting what they aimed for. People from all walks of life and generations came to the venue and threw caution to the wind. It was raining cats and dogs but teens, mothers, and fathers were there. The ticket sale was successful despite the threat of the weather and the VIP Gold tickets were sold out
To give way to those who were caught up by Typhoon Mario, Aqueous made arrangements with Robinsons Forum and extended the ticket sale. The second selling date was scheduled on a weekend, September 21, 2014, Sunday. As expected, many supporters, who hailed from the wide stretched area of Luzon, have gotten themselves a ticket with the favorable weather condition at hand. The VIP Silver were sold out and only a few of the Patron tickets were left.
The “Patron Run” was initiated on September 22, 2014 for the remaining Patron tickets to be made available for phone reservations and walk-ins. With a blink of an eye, the tickets were sold out.
It only took two and a half days to sell all 720 tickets. Now that is unbelievable!
Darren may be a newbie in the Philippine Music industry, with barely 2 months exposure since The Voice Kids finale, but this incredibly talented young man has just proven how well loved he is by his fans. There were no some sort of advertisements such as TV, radio, prints, and celebrity endorsements that helped promote the said concert. The sheer fact that the DARRENatics are solid and united with one purpose, was more than enough.
Darren’s first solo concert will surely leave a historical mark in the Philippine concert scene. And every proud DARRENatic would definitely remember the day when they were “Racing for a Golden Ticket!”
